Update from the trip
Had a good day on Friday and ended up with 85, probably would have had more if we hadn't stayed up all night like a bunch of idiots. Had good winds and they skies were blue. Saturday wind had died down and it was overcast and cloudy. Still ended up with 42. Overall it was a good trip and we were definitely pleased with the results.
As for the guide service, I thought they were decent at best. Showed up in the morning and had to put the entire spread out for them both days, consisting of over 2k sillo socks. When picking them up both days the guides parked both the bikes and trailers right next to each other and stood on the trailers while we picked up the entire spread and handed it back to them. I mean at least pull the bikes on opposite ends of each other so people don't have to walk way the frick back to them every time. I wasn't that upset with having to put out the spread for them, especially when it was in a dry field, but they just weren't logical about it. For $200 a gun, I was not totally satisfied, however they did do a good job of putting us on the birds.
There is also a ton of the dumbest specks I have ever seen in my life up there and I will definitely going back to take out some of them next year!

glad you guys had a memorable hunt. I have done conservation order hunts as well and always come away with a lukewarm impression, too. It is just a hell of a lot of work and we never quite kill as many birds as I am expecting.
good thing to do a time or two, but I wouldn't want to do it regularly.
