shite...I was so damn happy when I finally got a Walkman. Before that, I was bringing this on field trips in the early 80's...
Complete with my old man white one earpiece headphone and a bag of tapes...
I do sometimes marvel at my phone today. It not only can access the entire word's collected knowledge via the internet, but hold a vast array of movies and photos AND my entire music collection that I struggled to have even a tiny bit of with me when I as a kid.

if someone had told my 12 yr old self that this would happen i would have laughed. Its pretty remarkable when you think about it

I remember riding the bus, this would have been around 1980-81. I was about 4th or 5th grade. There was a senior who always sat in the back seat with one of those tape players and he'd play Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" over and over. I can't remember his real name but everyone called him "Alfie". The thing that made it all surreal was the fact he was the exact twin of the traditional image we have of Jesus Christ, down to the long hair and beard. So imagine being a 4th or 5th grader and looking in the back of the bus and you see Jesus wearing a Kiss tee-shirt and rocking out to Queen.
