I was 8 when that movie came out and I remember those guns that burnt people into skeletons scaring the shite out of me.

Mars Attacks is a really good movie. Its absurdity turned off a lot of people, but it has a bit of a cult following. The cast was fricking loaded, too.
"Tame movies that scared the shite out of you when you were young" would make for a good thread. While it's happening here, I'll chime in with the wolf and turtle thingies in "The Neverending Story." Had many nightmares about the wolf in particular.
