So, what you meant was they have a clue as to numerous things it used to stand for, but there is one singular thing that it was used for that people may not know about, amongst a trove of other things it stood for.

Yes, that is correct. That "singular thing" went on for a very long time and is part of the history that goes with the symbol. Seems I have struck a nerve with some of you.
