Absolutely, but that doesn't fit the narrative that this is all because of the Democrat in office
Nobody is saying that. This is squarely on Jindal and his failure of a governorship and not doing enough to fix the state constitution and enact real conservative reforms.
The problem is that JBE is responding to it in the worst way possible and making it fricking worse nothing but taxes and more taxes without cuts. Hell, he did that already on his first day in office with medicaid expansion and that will frick us up the arse hard.
Hopefully JBE's failure as a governor will finally start the momentum for a convention to rewrite the state constitution and get rid of the protected spending.

I can't believe how little people know about what's coming with this Medicaid expansion-- many think it's not that big a deal.
It's been very bad for most of the other states, but it is going to bend us the frick over.
JBE pretty much gave a big frick you to all the "conservatives" that he duped into voting for him in his first week in office. We're in a major financial crisis and his first 3 moves are to accept more Medicaid we'll never be able to pay for, extend the no- work requirements for food stamp which could've saved money, and then gave raises to his staff after claiming he wouldn't.
Then, adding insult to injury, tried to claim he didn't know about how dire the budget while he was campaigning on no taxes... even though he was in state legislature
to the people who voted for this lyin arse piece of dog shite
