I don't want to spoil your interest, you don't need negative nancies ruining it. I was up there for a few rough winters. I have heard they haven't been that bad up there recently, but I don't really keep track. The first 2 years were pretty great as everything was new and shiny. The routine wore on me after awhile though and the outdoors lost some of their appeal as I can do a lot of it back closer to family.
It is definitely worth going up there, would do it again if I had never been there.
