Recently tore mine. It was less than a month before I could walk after the surgery.

As far as knee injuries are concerned they are weak. Like you might as well have a hang nail.
I've torn the medial in both knees multiple times, once "flipped" which means it is torn and a piece of it is getting stuck in the joint. I fought in the UFC 2 weeks later
Tore my other one as well as tearing the MCL, PCL, and patellar in the first round of a fight once and won a decision.
Maybe it is just a life of wrestling and grappling but I see torn meniscii several times a year from training partners. I never see them out for more than a couple weeks even with surgery
