I just can't see marvel even teasing about cap dying. He's the most popular comic character in the world right now.
Killing him, even if for just 1 movie might be devastating to the future of marvel movies.

Plus, in comics, it has become an acceptable paradigm that characters who die hardly ever stay dead. I wouldn't particularly mind if the movies decided to forego that little bit of comic book usage and maybe just not kill characters if they don't intend them to stay dead.

In the comics or these films? I'll argue RDJ's Iron Man is the most popular character in the MCU.
