I could be mistaken, but I think they are still going to do ones with Renner. They just got put on hold when Damon agreed to do another one. I could be wrong.
I didn't mind the Renner one. I'm pumped for this one though. Really like the Bourne series.

The Renner Bourne Legacy character was set up to be a parallel storyline to Bourne. While I don't think it's officially dead, there do not appear to be any current plans for additional Bourne movies with Renner. That said, the idea of a Bourne film universe is kind of interesting. Universal is trying to build a film universe similar to Disney's MCU around their monster properties - Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, et al - but it is unclear if that concept will work (Dracula: Untold was supposed to be the Iron Man of the Universal Monster-verse).
