It reminds me of when I was a little kid in the '70s when it seemed like the newspaper always had an obit for somebody from the golden age of Hollywood in the 20s, 30s, and 40s

Of course as I was so young most of those names meant nothing to me at the time. Now a lot of them mean a great deal.

I also remember young people bitching about the WWII generation -- yep, the "Greatest Generation" -- who were responsible for the mess the world was in.

Even Baby Boomer resentment isn't new. I recall being on a bus in the mid-late '80s and overhearing 2 LSU grad students (I presume that's what they were) complaining about research grants drying up and that it wasn't like "the old days" when the money flowed "like manna from heaven".

It was the same for comic book creators in the 90's and 2000's. All of the guys who created the superhero genre were teens at the same time when they got into the business at the end of the 30's. Jack Kirby died in '94 then we started to see more and more go until it was a monthly ritual. Now they're all gone except for Stan Lee and one or two other guys.
