The problem for negative recruiters is that sometimes they reach too far and it backfires. Like when LSU can show an extension-raise in counter.

Kind of like the incumbent has the advantage. Plus the Fulton's are pretty plugged in to LSU. It's not like they're operating in the dark. Makes it much easier for LSU to counter.

ETA: the UF guy above may be on to something, it is entirely possible that AR was doing the negative recruiting and telling him things along the line of since Raymond is leaving LSU you should give more weight to our staff stability.
