SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -
A Sulphur woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing Monday evening on Lance Street, near the Houston River Road Fire Department.

Breanna Vidrine, 19, is charged with aggravated second-degree battery. Judge Sharon Wilson set bond at $75,000.

Vidrine stabbed a woman once in the arm and once in the leg on Lance Street, then fled the scene, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said. The stabbing happened around 6:45 p.m.

The victim was sitting in a car with two other people when Vidrine walked up and asked for her by name, Myers said. When the victim, who was sitting in the driver's seat, responded, Vidrine attacked her with a hunting knife, then fled to a car with a driver waiting at the end of the driveway. The motive is unknown at this time. The stabbed woman was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Vidrine was found and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center. More arrests are possible.

Detective Lance Melendy is the lead investigator on this case.
