UF was nothing before SOS arrived. He took him 7 years to win a NC because he had to build that program, something he wouldnt have to do here. I read a thread on a UF board the other day and they all said it would be scarey if SOS came here and I agree.

From what I've seen, Spurrier is not the same coach taht was driven at UF, he doesn't have that same desire he had. I think he is older now, and the NFL showed him it takes a lot of hardwork. My dad worked for the Redskins when he was there, and he was on the golf course a whole lot.

The point is that his last three years at Florida--after he had already built the program--were not as good as Miles' three at LSU. Both programs were in about the exact same shape, UF maybe just a little bit better. By the way, Lou Holtz did better in years 2 and 3 at South Carolina that Spurrier did. Moots is right, we don't need to be chasing coaches who peaked more than a decade ago. We need someone young, hungry, and motivated to create a legacy, not just to add an easy cherry to the top of one.
