I've driven an LS3 equipped Camaro and it was one of my biggest complaints along with the lack of rear visibility. A pushrod motor (other than maybe the LS7 and NASCAR engines) with its single cam in block can't compare to the high RPM capabilities of a DOHC motor. Try revving a stock pushrod motor to 7800 RPMs and see what happens.
