I live in New Orleans and my wife just HAD to have some of the muffaletta mix from central grocery.
So due to the crowds, I drive by and drop her off. I tell her I'm going to make a few blocks and pick her back up. Well, most of the French Quarter is blocked off in some manner. I am meandering my way through the quarter with me and my son in the car.
We ended up crossing a street that had a TON of people on it. It's not real crowded at the intersection but I roll through at about .5 mph. I pass 3 feet from this guy. He's about 30, probably around 5' 11" and weighs about 175 pounds.
He looks at me and says "F*** you, Go F*** yourself".
In the past, I would have exited my vehicle and vigorously discussed the matter with the gentleman. I still got a little mad but my son was in the car. I just smiled and drove past. I told my wife about it later and said "I hope that guy makes it home from Mardi Gras safe. I don't think he will, but I hope so".
You change as you get older. It happens.
