it's all a shitty situation because here's where you're caught. do you tank now and then not know what gentry can do with a little time? then what, fire him? that's a lot of money to shell out. or give him next year and maybe he is actually shite no matter the roster and it's another year of the same?

or do you let him play through the rest of the season and see what he can do before firing him or keeping him, based on the results? then you may not get a pick in the 7-10 range, but that's a crap shoot anyway (maybe less so this year because that could be a Buddy Heild or Valentine type player).

Regardless, you're kinda in no man's land right now. I think the next few games will be telling before the break. You have 4 games against playoff teams. the teams they beat the last few weeks are all shite teams, which is good but doesn't prove much. If they can go 5-2 (beat Lakers, Wolves, Jazz, split with Memphis, Spurs, Cavs, and OKC) in these next 7, then you don't tank. if they are 3-4 and can't beat any playoff teams, you tank, fire dell, and let the new GM decide if Tom wants to buy out Gentry or go from there.
