Having lived in Mississippi most of my life, played high school college ball there just as there are really two Louisiana's North and South, there are at least that many Mississippi's. LSU does well on the Coast as Johnny Vaught wouldn't recruit there because he was a racist a-hole and didnt like blacks, Catholics, Coast rats etc. (This is not speculation my family knew him well.), State was a joke so South of Hattiesburg and Natchez area have tons of pro LSU people, and often no deep ties to Ole Miss or State.

Jackson or metro Mississippi is like New Orleans, kids can go to Bama, LSU, Ole Miss etc.

North Mississippi (Delta all Ole Miss, Golden Triangle all State, Hills etc) are much much harder to get a kid our off, strong schools ties, proximity etc. This kid is right down the street from State. Would be very very hard.

We need to renew our Gulf Coast ties. We are not as strong as we were pre Katrina. My high school has sent 4 players to LSU last 20 years including my brother but none in last few years.
