quote:Sure. As long as they use that money to pay for the education, training, support, room, board, TV exposure, gear, coaching, medical care, travel, and everything else they are provided free of charge as they step completely debt-free into a multi-million dollar career in pro sports, or an enhanced career courtesy of four years of TV exposure, advertising, branding, promotion, training, and education.
Players should be paid anyway
The idea that college athletes are not compensated is laughable. Ed O'Bannon is a thieving piece of shite, and his life benefited thousands of times more from his time at UCLA than UCLA did. Without O'Bannon, UCLA is still a legendary basketball program generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues, built by legends like John Wooten, Bill Walton, Kareem, and generations of loyal fans. Without UCLA, Ed O'Bannon is an unknown nobody. So, yeah, sure, it makes total sense that HE would sue THEM.
PoS.

Outside of that they should 100% be able to benefit from their own fame. Autographs, commercials etc
