The problem is core locts don't handle that kind of velocity well and over-expand especially when they hit bone. Shoot something like a nosler partition, swift A frame, barns X, etc if you want to blast shoulders with high velocity calibers.

Berger VLD is also made to have delayed expansion. HSM does factory loads with the VLD.

ive read this multiple times recently. And im scared. Ive been hunting corelokts for years out of my 30-06, and i just switched to 270wsm. havent shot a deer yet, so im thinking about switching.
