quote:No. There was hardly any exposure for anyone back then
Pistol far and away had more exposure back in his day than Ben.
quote:There wasn't much exposure for them back then either. They weren't that special relatively speaking. The matchup with Loyola was great, but they didn't really have exposure and there were several teams that were just better. UNLV, Georgetown, Arky and Duke were the programs with all the exposure. There was a lot of excitement and energy at the LSU games but not with the media.
LSU has had just as much if not more exposure back in the days of Shaq, Roberts and Jackson

This is just incorrect. Today LSU played on like ESPN8. There were probably 5 other basketball games on tv at the same exact time. The only people watching LSU and Bama play were LSU fans or maybe a few people wanting to see Simmons. Back when Shaq and CJ were here, there was one, maybe two games on Saturday afternoon. When LSU played in those games, which was quite a bit, the entire nation watched. LSU was always on tv in those days because we had 1st team All-American players for 3 years straight and Dale Brown was a great at scheduling and promoting. We'd play the best in the country in those days (UNLV, Duke, Georgetown) and major tv networks wanted to cover it.
