Why does something in the HVAC unit always go bad on a day like today?
2 inches of snow and ice on the ground, 36 straight hours of below freezing temps, and a Saturday to boot. That's when the damn control board decides to commit suicide.
It got down to 59 degrees in here before they fixed it.
I still haven't showered today because I refuse to get in until the temperature in the house is at least 70 degrees.
I'm cold and stinky and stir crazy.
Thank jesus for home warranties.

This is the way it was explained to me by a wise old man.
Anything mechanical that you depend on the most will have invisible frustration sensors built in. When you need an appliance the most, these sensors are alerted and activate. Their internal laugh can sometimes be detected as a squeal, bang or hiss. Occasionally, smoke will escape simultaneously to ensure their mission to piss off the user is guaranteed. Excessive alcohol use only makes their crusade easier. (I've tried and lost the battle)
