Will the Oscars include a token black person in every category now?

Seems the people that put the Oscars on each group has caved as well. They've called for change in the voting process.

they should do what my high school did for homecoming. each grade had a white and black list so you had a black 8th grader and a white 8th grader win. everyone was happy. it was stupid but everyone was happy.

I'm just gonna say that I'd be disappointed if Chris Rock were to pull out.

I feel like this whole situation makes for easy material for him.

At this point, we're pretty much assured that every fricking acceptance speech will be about this.

I'm going to boycott watching the Oscars until they show people from Louisiana in a positive light. We are not all the Waterboy. I'm not a caricature.

Others defended Dash, pointing out that Morgan Freeman has also criticized Black History Month.

“Ridiculous,” Freeman told Mike Wallace on “60 Minutes” in 2005. “You’re going to relegate my history to a month? What are you going to do with yours? Which month is white history month?”

“How are we going to get rid of racism until—” Wallace began.

“Stop talking about it,” Freeman said. “I’m going to stop calling you a white man. And I’m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman. You’re not going to say, ‘I know this white guy named Mike Wallace.’ Hear what I’m saying?”

I think they should create a black category (best black supporting male etc. etc.)for each existing category.

Just include Tyler Perry in every category. Problem solved.

I'm not sure why they want to be given an award simply because they're black....but I am also not sure why Hollywood's racism is any of our problem. I would think as an actor, the biggest award is people watching your movie, but these are some giant egomaniacs we're talking about.

I'll say it again...

It is amazing how many black people actually WANT blacks to be judged by the color of their skin and NOT the content of their character.

I think they should include a black person in every single category. Under their name where they list the movie they had a role in, they should also add a subtitle "token minority nomination".

Jewish people don't care about the black plight. Jews are the most oppressed people in history

It's an awards show, it's not denying someone a job, renting an apartment or buying a home due to restrictive covenants. I don't get why our society gets fussed about meaningless pats on the back? Everyone gets a trophy society.

Didn't this just happen with the Grammys? Do the Grammys have a Race Problem?

They complain that they didn't have any blacks nominated, then there will be an unwritten "quota" for minority nominations, then a person of color will win, then they'll get mad when people say they won because of their skin color.
