re: Sushi -- really delicious or really trendy thing to do?

Great sushi is fantastic, but is quite rare in middle America.

I often find myself looking at typical sushi joints with a bit of disdain. All that fish, potentially impacting ocean populations, just so a bunch of wannabe foodies can eat fish "as a condiment" to the massive amount of rice and soy sauce they have at lunch.
