Why buy a Toyota Prius...

If you are going to drive 90+ MPH? Are you really saving gas at that point?
I was going 80 on I-10 over the weekend, and some guy in a Prius went by me like I was standing still.

If you are buying a Prius. I don't think top end speed is a huge concern of yours.

You save gas primarily in city driving with a Prius. You know, electric and all.

99% of the Prius drivers I see hang out in the left lane going about 5 under the speed limit clearly oblivious to the 30 cars stacked up behind him/her trying to get by.

Because you're environmentally conscious and not an obtuse redneck.

Why post, if you're going to make dumb ones.

I just bought a Prius a month ago. I drive 80-85 every day to and from work. I like the fact that combined with city driving I have still managed to get 43.8mpg and not had to drive under 60 everywhere.
If I would drive in the 55mph range Id actually get 50+ per gal but I drive around 200-250 miles a day.

Because you like to Feel the Bern (and dicks).

Because I drive over 100 miles per day.

Your car is the most fuel efficient at 100mph you idiot

1. Buy a Prius to save gas
2. Drive 90mph+ to save more gas
3. Profit

You got passed by a Prius

Fuel efficiency increases on a steep curve the faster you go. at 100mph you get roughly twice the mpg as if you were only going 50mph. I know it sounds completely counterintuitive to logic, but I learned that last year right here on TD.

They say if you get rear-ended in a Prius you die of AIDS.
Posted on 1/20/16 at 12:26 pm to SG_Geaux
So you can flaunt your moral superiority.

Saving gas because they get there quicker
Posted on 1/20/16 at 12:57 pm to SG_Geaux
Did this make you feel like less of a man?
Posted on 1/20/16 at 1:23 pm to SG_Geaux
Because you aren't an a-hole and care about the environment. Also, much wiser decision financially for cost of vehicle and gas mileage. Most of my southern friends hardly ever use the beds of their big arse, gas guzzling trucks. It would be too detrimental to their man status to drive anything else however

This is almost as dumb as mj2's mph thread. At 80mph, our Prius still gets over 45mpg.
