I have a niece who is blind and her birthday is coming up. Yeesh.

Its not like there are a bunch of blind people or their families I can go out and ask questions to.

Most, if not all, phones and devices these days have pretty good accessibility features. From what I've heard from the visually impaired Apple products are generally the best and have the most resources online (blogs, message boards, etc). Do a little research on the specific devices you are considering and you should be able to find some pretty good info
