I think this is getting blown out of proportion. I think I know what Shaq means (but he can't articulate). Its pretty obvious nothing was stopping Saban from leaving for the NFL. At that time, no money. Reality is, had Saban not left more than likely, better than 90% chance, LSU has those 4 national titles he got at Bama. Bama is not good because they are the state of Alabama. They are great because they got Saban. Saban is the one and only reason they became successful. His same philosphy would have worked with the #1 recruiting classes that would have remained here.
