Saw this on Facebook.....
Andrew Whitworth's response to being asked why he went back on the field to shake the Steeler's player's hands instead of going straight to the locker room...
When the game ended Whitworth was one of just four Bengals – the others were kicker Mike Nugent, receiver Marvin Jones and halfback Rex Burkhead – who sought out Steelers players on the field to congratulate them.
“I shook hands with them because at the end of the day integrity and character and who you are as a man is more important than who you are as a football player,” he said. “And in the face of a loss you have to man up and walk out there.”

I met Andrew Whitworth in church one Sunday. As outstanding a LT as he is, he is even more outstanding as a human being.

He is what all LSU players, who have pro potential, should aspire to be.

Dude is a total outcast on that team. Good on him.

Must have been one hell of a handshake he had

No surprise that baby back bitch Jeremy Hill didn't go back out there to shake hands.

Thats class right there, integrity. Those are the ones who rise to the top in the face of defeat. Victory is never so sweet as defeat is bitter. Great job Whitworth, that not only represents West Monroe and LSU well, it is a great representation of you and your parents. Maybe you could teach classless J.Hill a thing or two, especially not dancing like a fool on the sideline until victory is attained. Fumble-Karma is a bitch.

I sat with his father at the Peach Bowl. He was a very nice man. We had a great conversation about the program and his thoughts about certain coaches.

Had a piece on him on the local news today concerning his family life etc. One heck of a good man there.

He costs his team the game and will never be able to get over that loss.

This ones on me... This city this organization deserves better only thing to do is continue to fight and come back stronger
quote:
“That’s very difficult because you know you put them in that situation and our defense played their butts off all day today, especially against that offense,” said Hill, who rushed 12 times for 50 yards and a touchdown. “It’s very unfortunate for me to put them back out there after they played their butts off. Especially after getting the interception.”

quote:
Multiple waves of media suffocated Hill’s locker, but the 23-year-old didn’t leave. He stood up and owned his mistake. He earns points for handling adversity, but that means little waking up Sunday realizing his fumble went a long way to ending his team’s season.
Shove your judgement up your arse.

Maybe so but Hill could learn a thing or two from how Whitworth conducted himself after the game.

Yep. But the dude doesn't deserve to be dumped on by a-hole idiots who call themselves Tiger fans. He knows he fricked up and is stressing over it I'm sure. A lot of players have screwed up in big games like that throughout NFL or even college history. Hill is not the first and won't be the last. But he is no Burfict, so he doesn't deserve to treated like that. He played great ball while at LSU.

Whitworth is married to a former Miss Louisiana...life is good for that man. I never understood why he stayed in Cincinnati?
