that's what I did a couple days ago. I plugged a cat 5 (?) cable into Ethernet port 1 on the router and into my computer

the internet went down. I thought it was possibly a coincidence. but then someone posted in this thread that would make the internet mess up

frick it, i'll just watch shitty streaming. besides I think my stepdad took my cable because I was gonna take a pic and can't find it

eta maybe your stepdad used the cable to fix the wifi you broke. superglue works best but in a pinch he could tie that cable around it to hold it together.
