This is what I've told many people: There is a difference between bad shooters and shooters who just don't have shots falling. You don't necessarily call it a slump, just he's 'off' currently. That could be because of adjustment to college, figuring out his role in offense, mental issues off the court, many things.
The kid is 19 and never faced adversity on the basketball court. People say youth is not an excuse, but when you're 19 and adjusting to things in life, it's sometimes more difficult to figure things our than when you're 21 or 22.
AB has a gorgeous stroke, and many of his shots are just a little long. When he lets the ball go, you can tell he thinks a lot are going in because they're right on target. He is playing tremendous D and has really turned a corner with his effort.
Also, I don't have any idea if he will come back or not. AB would not be the first player to leave early and should not have left. But it's not like his options are sub-saharan africa or bust. He can go make 40k in the NBDL and get some 10-day contracts and eventually latch on to a roster. I hope for his sake and LSU's sake he doesn't, but it's an option.
