Closest, but not close (to your scenario)

PAC-12 champ had 3 losses, Big 10 champ had two losses, ACC champ had two losses. Notre Dame was 6-6.

There was only 3 major conference champions that were undefeated one of which was EXTREMELY questionable with regards to its major distinction-Big East Cincinnati.


ETA I see that was covered in a previous post.


Also 3 is not close to 6. 3 would also be covered in a 4 team play off. And No i dont give a shite if a little 5 conference team goes undefeated and gets left out.
