It does seem a bit odd that they drove onto the grass near the only person there after getting a report of a possible gun.

But if the dispatchers didn't say anything about it being fake and my partner drives me right up to someone reaching for a very realistic looking gun...I'm shooting. And in my mind, I'm fully justified.
