True. I have several and I just use private lots. Careful though, even if you park legally on the street, they have vans that scan license plates and they will boot you. That's what a friend told me at least.

I can see where this can be a problem in NOLA where there is a large area of street parking. But what about Baton Rouge? Can they only really enforce this (booting cars) downtown?

My roommate had two tickets she didn't know about (was sent to her mom's house) and got booted. 500 bucks out the window. It sucks but I would pay it if you're in NOLA. She was parked outside our house on a small street that it not frequented by traffic at all.
