This is the case in healthcare/dental offices (as my friends tell me) and certainly in veterinary offices where one is the doc and the spouse is the office manager.

I avoid those like the plague. Did an initial phone interview once with a vet that owned a practice where his wife helped out as an assistant "sometimes" and his mom was the office manager. No thanks!
