When QB turns and pitches the ball to the tailback 7 yds deep, 11 defensive players know where,s the ball and they have 7 yards to react before he gets to line of scrimmage. As long as the QB has the ball in his hands, 11 defensive players can't react to RB's movement because the QB can keep, run himself or throw. That provides some delay in reaction (deception) and opens up holes for RB's. When you have 3 wide outs that leaves 8 def players to defend line of scrimmage. With safety's & line backers following a elite running back and crowding the line of scrimmage, the tight end would be wide open and WR will have man-man coverage. But as a previous poster said...off line needs much improvement.
