It takes a while to really get a feel for competitions and such. I already knew the rules and had some understanding of the game itself, but certain customs and understanding leagues took a while.

Was fun though, I can honestly remember a few years ago thinking "holy shite, I'm never going to get my head around this" and to some extent, I still do. Coming from American leagues where you can pretty naturally pick up on major players, teams, the status of various competitions, etc., it's different. For me at least. Takes more energy to stay current, but it's been fun.
