Final stat: Saints opponents have gained 17 1st downs on penalties against Browner, more than have been gained vs. entire G.B. defense (14).

Oh, they mean, all the penalties against the Green Bay defense.

Initially, I thought they were saying Green Bay has only allowed 14 first downs all season.

First downs given up by penalty, yeah.

That man has more than their entire defense.

Payton has defending Browner all year cause he's a team captain. Probably told him to bring his brand of play to the defense when he signed him. Don't blame Browner...it's all Payton for putting him out there. It's all Payton for the defensive philosophy. It's all payton for signing these shitty free agents.

I don't think Payton can foresee guys who he brings over that are pretty good players completely bombing. That would take magic and a crystal ball.

If you want to lay blame, lay it at the feet of Payton for the drafts that bombed. That is a direct correlation to having to buy these free agents.

That's his pride talking. This move has blown up right in his face. It's been bad since day 1. The national media is just now seeing for themselves. His play is terrible and his attitude is worse. I would question why we made him a captain in the offseason but this is the same squad that elected Galette

You can't call anyone a fool and say this:

They should cut browner today. His play and antics aren't worthy of an NFL uniform.

Cutting Browner today would be idiotic. Learn how the salary cap works

why? The fricking GM cant even figure out how the salary cap works. Thats why they are in this current mess. I have my own job to worry about. I'm a football fan, not a capologist. I watch football. My eyes tell me Browner is garbage. When you have trash, you put it on the side of the road

Browner should be cut today. it should have been yesterday. hell, it should have been Sunday night or better yet, rode out on the same horse a Ryan

I love you idiots that yap and bitch about those who "dont understand the cap". look mother fricker, you dont understand the cap. If you did, you wouldnt be posting on a message board. just stick to your role as super fan

So we should waste over a million in cap space for next year?

He needs to be a post June 1 cut if we're going to let him go. Pretty simple. No reason to accelerate the hit

$40+ million in dead money is a big reason, so your strategy is to exacerbate it and throw another $5.35 million on top of it instead of waiting a few months and lowering that to $4.05?

Solid logic

That makes zero sense, by that same logic, if you knew anything about football you'd be coaching rather than on the same board The numbers are readily available, and it really isn't difficult.

I'd post a link, but I'll stick with the theme in the OP.

I get that we can't cut Browner, but is there really not anything behind him? I think some guy off the street deserves a chance over a guy who just can't seem to do anything right.

We've been pretty banged up. I'm all for benching him or making him inactive and giving prospects a shot

Honestly, Browner has been instrumental in the competitive tank so I guess we should give him some credit this year.
