Did not playing the McNeese game hurt our bowl position?

Unranked UT gets the Outback bowl at 8-4.

Unranked UGA gets the former Gator bowl at 9-3 with no coach.

#19 UF loses to us and gets the Citrus bowl at 10-3.

Yet we are in the Texas Bowl.

Ultimately Id take the texas bowl over the Taxslayer bowl. It loses all the history and prestige when they take away the gator name, but the other two are obviously better. Personally I am far more likely to go to it over ANY of the above due to proximaty, but what gives?

Is it the fact that we have "one less win" than the others? Is it that Alleva has no backbone when it comes to bowl negotiations? Is it the SEC screwing us again?

How does this happen, year in year out we go to a bowl that doesnt fit what was earned comparatively?

Ultimately these crap bowls dont matter, its just frustrating to see us routinely get the screw job.

No, losing to a less talented Arkansas/Ole Miss team sure did.

I don't think so. I think it hurt LF7 more for post-season awards, though.

Screwed? Really?

We got destroyed in 3 of our last 4 games, and looked terrible again offensively in our win over A&M.

Personally I couldn't care less what bowl we go to now. The season ended very badly and I'm emotionally done. I'm afraid the players might be also.

Maybe because we never win our bowl games, the SEC tried to match us up against a weak team in a game we may actually have a chance to win?

Maybe they didn't feel we could beat Michigan or Florida State and are trying to spare our fanbase further embarrassment?

(I know this isn't the real reason, but maybe we should prove we can win a bowl game before crying about not being invited to a prestigious one. Win this one convincingly and take that momentum into next year. With a good showing in 2016, we'll have a much stronger case for the postseason.

Losing 3 of 4 by double digits doesn't give us much room to complain.)

Yes, it probably did. It also cost Fournette the Heisman. He'd have been over 2000 yards.

Unfortunately, yes. LSU continues year after year to get hosed when it comes to bowl selection. You would hope whoever makes these calls would factor in us getting passed over such as year in peach where we were told "don't worry, you'll get priority next time as well as W over McNeese this year to be 9-3. Unfortunately nobody in authority at LSU has the balls or clout to call this to attention.

No we finished like crap and think the bowls are aware that LSU fans have had it and aren't buying tickets.

Tennessee is rising.

LSU is disappointed and almost fired their coach.

Florida is the SECE champ and also about an hour or so away.

UGA is geographically friendly to Jacksonville.

LSU is geographically friendly to Houston.

Who cares? It's another crap bowl that's not one of the big 6. it's not playoffs.

Outside of the playoffs it doesn't matter what bowl we play in. It's cool to play in new cities if you're a traveling fan but other than that who really cares? You share the money already so it doesn't mean anything. At the end of the day does it matter more to have a game in Houston vs Atlanta or Nashville? No.

I doubt it. We were in the mass of SEC teams between Florida and Auburn (4 teams went 5-3 and 2 teams went 4-4 in conference), so the main rationale was geography and avoiding repeat trips.

How did LSU get screwed? They got placed in a geographically favorable bowl in a preferred recruiting territory with a tremendous alumni base and the SEC shares bowl revenue so who cares.

LSU fans are more apt to travel to Houston than to any of the florida bowls.
