Really amazing that they are able to compartmentalize their emotions that way. I'd love to be able to volunteer in that capacity, but I'd be a blubbering mess. I cry at car commercials sometimes, can't imagine a job where people die routinely.

I guess you have to have the mindset that you are doing what is best for the person by making their time left as comfortable as possible. I would love to be a hospice nurse to here all the stories and meet the people but I don't think I could ever get use to the goodbyes.
