So you have a sweet, gentle, dog. Worst case scenario, you want to turn him vicious. Best case scenario, you want to turn him into a barking machine the whole neighborhood hates. Awesome

If you need security, get an alarm system, or move to a safer neighborhood. Leave the damn dog alone.
