And YET, Miles almost lost his job. I almost remember even some of his staunchest supporters here admitting it was time for him to go.

That should tell you two related things that, on a more honest Rant, wouldn't have to be argued anymore:
1. Record isn't everything, so 82%, I mean 80%, I mean 78%, isn't where the conversation should end.
2. 10 wins is nice, but it's not necessarily anywhere near winning championships and shouldn't be used as a barometer for success

But now that we are a couple weeks removed from unavoidable proof that Les had failed again to create a championship caliber team, we get to go through the yearly apologetics ritual where we are assured that Les really is a top notch coach.

Well, when people that think like you use words like "mediocre" to describe the season, one in which 9-3 was the general consensus going it to it mind you, you'll have to understand that there will be some "apologists." Why was 9-3 OK before the season, but unacceptable after?

I admitted that shite had spiraled out of control to the point that it was probably time for him to go just because I figured there was no tenable way for him to stay once the Internet/media/shite stirrers sent things nuclear. Not because I thought he sucked.

But even that assumed that LSU would bring somebody established in (I was preferring Chip Kelly) that would make the concept of a 15 million buyout for a guy coming off a 3 loss season something at least a little less than moronic.

Once Jimbo told LSU's proxies to piss up a rope (and hold onto your "Alexander did it with the candlestick in the library" fantasies all you want) and LSU clearly had no Plan B, well I was 100% back on "Let's make it work with Miles"
