I know, negatiger. I have always like Steve Lavin. Go get him and see what he can do at LSU. Guy killed it at UCLA. I know, Trent Johnson.

If LSU doesn't make the NIT, then I think we need to fire JJ and look for a new coach. Opposite of TJ, can recruit but can't coach.

Absolutely. I still think this team gets it together and will make the NCAA though.

Making the NIT should not be looked at as some kind of accomplishment for this team. It should be looked at as a complete disappointment. There is still a lot basketball left to be played, but if this season goes south then what logical basis would there be for keeping Jones? If he can't do anything with maybe the most talented team he will ever have at LSU, then what makes you think he will ever be able to accomplish anything of note? As far as I can tell, there are no more huge recruits out there for him to fall arse-backwards into. He's already failed to make the NCAAT once with a frontcourt of 3 NBA players (O'Bryant, Mickey, Martin)

Go back to when Jones was hired. Very few people on here were excited about the hire and almost all were concerned about his coaching ability. Three years later the same concerns are there. This is "next year" for LSU. If he is a championship level coach, then now is the time to prove it!

Why was he fired there then, just like he did at St. John's?

I still say a Johnny Jones/JOhn Brady pairing would solidify the issues Jone's teams have. Sad to think Brady is the best gameday coach LSU has ever had.
