The real problem is that most kids North of Alexandria go to public schools. They have huge land areas, but not alot of people. They also don't have the budgets of most South LA Schools both public and Private, except for a few exceptions, W. Monroe/Neville, etc. The real story is that for the schools to agree, they only did this for the playoffs. W/o the private school gates, most South LA public schools sports wouldn't survive. No parent support, again unlike North LA.

This was all about small schools not wanting to compete against Curtis and Evangel. If they would have allowed them to play up like before, this wouldn't have happened. They were playing up before, then 5A/4A pubs didn't want them in their division. They forced them into enrollment-based divisions. So the 1A/2A schools got upset. The only real solution is to let schools with small enrollments meet certain criteria based on the academics and safety of the kids and let them play where they want.
