A 3k passer like Mettenberger, why can't we get a Mettenberger style QB to play at LSU?
So your idea is to get some other college to evaluate then recruit and develop the QB for a year.
Then for some reason he has to go JUCO for a year.
Then he has to come here and sit for a year.
Then he plays crappy his first year
Then finally as a 5th year senior with two legit high level NFL receivers, have a passing game that 40-50 schools have regularly with guys that will never play in the NFL.
BRILLIANT!!!!

Perhaps we could just skip all that you posted and recruit a guy like that from the start?
Pretty sure that's what he meant.
Thanks for the history lesson though.

Danny Etling may be better than Harris but that doesn't mean he will be the QB next year. With CLM it doesn't matter if one is better than the other, once he gets one player in his head that seems to be who he sticks with no matter what talent is sitting on the side line.

Danny will get his opportunity to start this year. He has been putting in a lot of work during his 1 season suspension. The one thing that sets him apart is that the kid is brilliant. Very smart and understands/reads coverages very well. Has decent zip on the ball and can get the ball to the playmakers.
Weaknesses would be his mobility and his throwing motion/mechanics.
