I forgot to add a comment about that. You're right. It is all about money. Even a beloved head football coach would eventually be fired if the program started losing money.
But, I have no insight into LSU athletic finances. Has LSU EVER lost money in athletics? Even in the 1990s? I don't know, but I don't think so.
LSU football would make money for LSU as long as LSU football turns in winning seasons and a bowl game, that's my guess.

As long as the money is coming in and tickets are sold (actual attendance doesn't really matter), there will be no pressure to make major changes.
