Well, when you take the coaches off the board that were clearly not a play at this point, who would you pick?

You are taking a chance on an unknown at some point. Going from a 3 loss season and good recruiting class for the next year to new face (and likely much less of a recruiting class) could be a colossal mistake. I still fail to see how firing a winning coach (even in his "slump") is still the best option.

I await to see the names you would pick for your hire.
