I think this is a whole different scenario if LSU loses this game. Maybe not a firing right now, but that idiot Alleva would not have made his announcement tonight

That is such a crock, IF and I do say IF, they had their HC in waiting secured, it would have been a done deal.
I think that Sexton knew of the discontent and basically was able to create massive drama simply in order to increase the other coaches salaries. Those guys aren't going anywhere. Wait and see what happens to about 4 coaches salaries after the bowl season for teams that did not have Championship seasons. They were all contacted and all played along to boost their bottom lines, they would be stupid not to.
The chance that LSU could have simply crawfished out of a deal with another top tier HC just because someone was feeling wishy washy after watching another very painful offensive game plan is down right silly. I do believe LSU was testing the waters but it went public and the losers in all of this is the university and the handling of the situation and when it is all done, nothing will have changed.
