So, what did we see over the years as Chavis's weaknesses?

Screen passes.
Drag patterns by WR's across the middle.
Short middle passes to RB's out of the backfield.

What DIDN'T we see much of tonight?

What sort of QB does Les Miles like to recruit? Answer: the dual threat type. Brandon Harris has great wheels for a QB.

What didn't we see from our QB tonight? Any sort of dual threat. He ran the ball twice, as I recall... each, by the way, were pretty successful.

We have a ton of TE's on the roster. DeSean Smith makes a big target and catches the ball well. He was targeted once, made a nice play, and was not heard from again. Colin Jeter might as well have not been playing.

What routes does Brandon have trouble hitting for $500 Alex.

327 yards, 3 turnovers created, back-up QB, 19 pts.

Looked like the same squad that lost 3 in a row to me.

Les knows how to coach a running game. RB's rarely (if ever) fumble and generally gain yardage.

So, basically? Let him continue to do that, and hire someone else to gameplan / coach the offense / prepare the players to use that newfangled 'forward pass' thing-a-ma-jiggy thing that we hear so much about.

Seriously: I see more creativity out of the Iowa offense. I pine for LSU to have the Iowa offense.

Harris can't hit those. Or if he does, the receiver drops it.

On the other hand, I was very encouraged that Chavis was calling the plays against us at the end of the game, instead of having to rely on him to secure our win.

THAT is what I'm thankful for on this Saturday after Thanksgiving.

To be fair we did put together a 14 play TD drive with straight runs and Harris was insanely innacurate today, the plays were there to be made at QB he just simply did not throw the ball well at all.
