Call your vet and watch the dog. They don't really digest it so pay attention and see if it's having trouble going to the bathroom. It will eventually dissolve but too large a piece could cause problems.

Don't rawhides soften and become pliable the longer they are exposed to moisture? Wouldn't that allow the dog to pass it?
