Because he wants to compete against the best on the big stage, the SEC.

too many relationships are at stake for him to just say "im going to coach LSU because I want too". That won't sit well and will make him look like a punk.

Now if he takes a raise, at least he has a justified excuse. But you better believe FSU will try and match.

but then if FSU offered a match and he still wanted to leave.. wouldn't it still be the exact thing first thing you said..

this doesn't seem to be about money. he will get paid, but he very well may not be comfortable given what he's been through lately.

lol too many relationships are at stake? won't sit well with who? and make him look like a punk to who?

AND WHO GIVES a shite what you look like.

Saban looks like a punk, but he's still very well respected..

I agree with mostly everything you're saying. I don't think it's as simple as a lot of people on here are posting. I really would not be shocked if he's doing this for more money at FSU. He likes LSU no doubt about that but that doesn't mean he wants to just uproot and leave immediately.

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind he prefers BR over where he's at now. That has to account for something and I don't think he's willing to burn bridges towards a program he loved and openly acknowledges he wouldn't be where he is without them. So, I'll stay on the positive side.
