Pretty sure they can with their booster base led by the Under Armor guy. People don't realize that MD has a large and wealthy alumni base. Easily bigger than the money or the alumni base of Miss State.
MD has so much potential in football and being in the big ten helps them since being in the ACC meant taking on Duke and UNC and UVA in basketball and pooh-poohing football.

Their biggest booster owns Under Armour they could pay Mullen 10 million a year if they wanted to.
